My Two Persian Cats

This is Benji he's the seal point at the rear and he's 2-3 years old. Sam is the ginger and white one at the front and we got him for Xmas last year so he's about 14 months old. They are both full blood Persians purchased from a breeder.

If you are thinking of purchasing a cat you can't go wrong with a Persian - I have had three now - Charlie died aged 4 years old from complications from a tick twelve months before his death.

Persians have a very placid temperament and they are great with children. None of my cats have ever bitten or scratched anyone even when my daughter carts them around in her dolls pram.

Both my boys are permanently inside - they have never been aloud outside. This is for a few reasons. Persians like any animals are very suseptable to getting ticks and the poision effects them greatly. So that is the main reason I don't let them outside. The second is fleas - I don't have to worry about fleas as they don't go outside to bring them in on their coats. Also when a cat is outside alot of their natural instincts return and they become very independant in nature and not so attached to the people they live with as they are off over the fences chasing and playing with other animals. That doesn't happen inside. My cats have each other to play with and they are the best of buds and love each other and even though they are both desexed males they groom and love each other - it's very sweet I'm sure that Benji thinks he's Sams dad! As from the very first day we brought Sam home after about 2 hours when Benji realised Sam wasn't going to hurt him and he came out of his hiding place, they have loved each other since. On a hot day I even leave the air conditioning on for them - as because of their long coats they do feel the heat.

You can get short hair persians as well as long hair. If you don't like grooming your cats regularly and you hate cat hair on your clothing and furniture then I would recommend you get a short haired one. As they do shed alot of hair and it does knot easily especially at the changing of a season when they are loosing their winter coat. Posted by Picasa

My daughters

This is my two beautiful daughters.

I look at them and my heart just aches with the love I feel for them. Although I will admit that at time they test my patience. Kimberley is the oldest and she has just turned 11 but thinks she is 11 going on 21. She is very strong willed and opinionated and sometimes this is a good thing, but her opinions can get very frustrating sometimes, when you know she is totally wrong in what she is saying and you've asked her to do something that you don't want to do. On the other hand she can be soft and loving and only just wants your approval and to say that she did a good thing. She is very quiet at school and when her report card came home and said this I thought they were talking about someone elses child as Kimberley is always talking, singing or dancing at home. Amy is my quieter precious 7 year old and is alot less moody and more willing to do as she is told then her sister. But how long that will last I don't know as she is just starting to voice an opinion when it's not want she wants. She is sometimes young for her age and likes to be the baby of the family. Both my daughters are very different. But I can seem myself in both of them. Not necessarily in looks but in personality and character. My husband always says he can tell that they are my daughters. Posted by Picasa

Welcome to Sues Journal

Welcome to Sues Journal.

This is my first blog, so it is probably going to be pretty boring compared to others that I have already seen.

Scrapbooking is my favorite pass time so of course this site will cover layouts and other interesting tid bits that you may find helpful. This site is also a way to express other things that I need to discuss.

So thanks for visiting my blog.
